The Big Hole of Cyrene

The Big Hole of Cyrene is one of the most impressive natural wonders of the Green Mountains a few kilometres east of Cyrene in eastern Libya. It is located on a private farme, and requires permission from the owner. There is not to much knowledge about this massive sinkhole, surrounded by lush greenery, plunges deep into the earth, creating a dramatic landscape. It’s a massive hole with a sheer size and depth make it one of the most unique landmarks. The pothole was said to be 220 meters deep.
