Al Burdi is for many travellers the first or last experience of Libya. Its located on the eastern coast of Libya, not far from the Egyptian border and one-hour drive from Tobruk. The main place of interest is John Brill’s room. This is a small room high on a bluff overlooking the Mediterranean where the British soldier John Frederick Brill painted his extraordinary tableau in 1942.
