Wadi Meggedet

The southwest of the Fezzan has many natural wonders such as Wadi Meggedet, located close to the Algerian border. It’s like a city of rock skyscrapers in miniature, talking the strangest shapes that leaves one lost for words. The rock formations look like they have been purposely built by invisible powers from the Sahara’s. You can reach the site via the road from Sabha to Awaynat, after which you need a 4WD to cross into Meghedet. The sand is soft in many places.
