The town of Yefren is lookated about 130 km south west of Tripoli, and sits high on a series of rocky bluffs, overlooking the flat coastal plain, and surrounded by attractive wooded areas. Overall, its one of the more appealing towns comprising several mountains divided by deep valleys and truly magical grooves and little jungles and cliffs that give the city its unique edge. The deserted old town is over 500 years old and there are a few ruined remains scattered around the hillsides. East of the town there is a Jewish Synagogue that served a Jewish community of up to 2000 people until 1948.
